The Borough is putting this vehicle up for bid because over the past two years there have been five (5) incidents of low or musky brakes. The brake sensor was repaired in March 2018. In October 2018, the engine code indicated a vacuum leak and the vehicle was taken to Carfagno Chevrolet and had major brake overhaul, vacuum pump, mastery cylinder, brake booster and vacuum line replaced as a result of a Technical Services Bulletin issued by General Motors. The vehicle was not recalled. On February 7, 2019, the vehicle backed into a telephone when the operator applied the brakes and brakes were very hard to push down. Del Chevrolet and the mechanic indicated that he could not find any leaks, errors or failing parts and the mechanic could not find a problem at that time. The Borough has decided to place the vehicle on Municbid.
