Item Description

Year: 2008

Make: Hypres Equipment

Model: HP-6500-NA6-E3-VE

Serial#: 1A100801

The Orange Ma Fire department is selling this 6500psi breathing air compressor. This compressor was custom built for our department in November of 2008 and has been in operation here since. It has the capability of filling individual bottles or will fill an entire cascade system. We have recently purchased a mobile self-contained unit and no longer have a need for this stationary unit. (Disclaimer the unit will require repair as It currently has an oil leak from an o-ring in between 2 of the stages but does operate and compress.) This compressor is wired for 208V single phase and runs a 10HP electric motor requiring a 40 amp breaker.

The winner of this auction will need heavy equipment to remove the item.  If arrangements are made in advance of pickup, the possibility of arranging town owned resources to assist with loading may be possible.

Q:
"Do you have an estimate of repair cost?"
- Asked by #568154 05/12/2019 11:32 AM
A:
We do not have an estimate for repairs as we had a new unit on order and were still able to fill bottles as it was. We believe the issue is a leak between the third and forth stage. I am told we experienced a similar issue about 2 years ago and the repair was about $700. (edited on 05/23/2019 05:24 PM)

Q:
"Do you happen to know when the SCBA fill station last had it's air analyzed and what grade it received. Thanks for your time. "
- Asked by #16456006 05/19/2019 09:08 AM
A:
I am unable to find any record of a recent air quality test.

Q:
"How heavy this unit and you have some dimensions?"
- Asked by #21426883 05/21/2019 12:36 PM
A:
Not exactly sure on the weight, I’d assume a few strong backs could probably load it. Dimensions are 38” wide, 65” tall, 29” deep if you remove an air fitting that sticks out just a bit on the rear of the unit.
