Item Description

The Good:

This vehicle was originally used as the Police Chief's vehicle before being passed down to the Detective Division.  This is the "Admistrave Intercepter" model.  Vehicle has driver side electric seat controls, a CD player and was seldom used for patrol. The vehicle also has a remote start with key fob, but the key fob needs fresh batteries. This is the last V8 rear wheel drive in our police fleet and it is already missed. This was the best preforming Crown Vic we've had and thus why we've kept it for so long.  This vehice has good tires, a good body, a strong motor and has PA inspection until April of 2022.

The Bad:

Up until Mid September 2021 this car was still in the fleet and used occasionally to attend trainings and other administrative tasks. It had a bad tire rod which made the streering feel lumpy and it was slated to be repaired. However... The transmission has since failed.  Currently the vehicle will only go into "Reverse Gear" We obtained estimates from the "Trans Shop" in Doylestown PA and were quoted $2,800 for them to rebuild the current transmission and $3,500 for a replacement transmission.

We estimated it would cost $4,000.00 to repair this vehicle to keep it in our fleet. (We really loved this car) Unfortunately, we do not have a $4,000 in our budget to repair a 13-year-old vehicle.

Q:
"Good evening, I'm honestly sorry for your loss of a great vehicle.. sad to read, I was wondering if the winning bidder could have the vehicles title put under a dealership ? Thank you. "
- Asked by #26100857 10/11/2021 07:58 PM
A:
Thank you, our Chief just got a brand new Ford Explorer Administrative model and it’s very nice.. (Only a V6 though..) So that is helping us to cope with the retirement of our last “real” police car. As for the title.... I don’t see why it could not be.. So long as you have some kind of credentials associating you with the dealership’s company. Maybe provide us with the EIN number or something so we can keep an accurate record of the sale. There are some laws about having a “open title” but as long as we are selling it to someone who can sign the title I don’t believe there will be any issues..

Q:
"Flex fuel?"
- Asked by #16579984 10/12/2021 03:45 PM
A:
I don’t recall seeing any “Flex Fuel” verbiage on it in all the years we’ve had it. We’ve only used regular gas in it from our Municipal pumps.

Q:
"I just checked your vin# the eighth digits has to be a V for flex fuel and a W for just regular gas as you can see yours is a V for flex fuel i will be watching this thank you‼️"
- Asked by #16579984 10/13/2021 10:39 PM
A:
I went down this morning to verify the VIN. I took and uploaded images of both the dash VIN plate and the door sticker. The 8th digit is a “V” so if that indicates it being a flex fuel, then that is what it is. I will say in all the years we’ve had it we’ve only used regular gas. Hope this helps.
