Q:
"Was this vehicle previously listed? If so, did the winning bidder not pick it up? Thanks."
- Asked by #29879959 09/30/2022 08:05 PM
A:
It was not previously listed. We sold a different 2014 Ford Explorer - Police Interceptor recently. This is a different vehicle. It is also an old police vehicle, but was used by our Engineering Department. The previous one was used by our Planning Department.

Q:
"Will I have 24 hours to register and drive off lot"
- Asked by #47876475 10/13/2022 05:22 AM
A:
I am not exactly sure what you are asking. Peters Township must have payment in the form of cash, a certified check, or a cashier's check. No other type of bank check or loan check is allowed. Once we receive payment in our hands, we then can either both go to our local notary to transfer the title, if the buyer is obtaining a new PA plate or transferring a PA plate, and the buyer will have to pay all sales taxes and fees (hundreds of dollars). Typically, in the $500 or more range depending on the final sales price. If it is an out of state dealer, I can go to the notary myself, sign off on the title with the information, and then hand over and mail the title. If it is an individual out of state, I can go to the notary myself, sign off on the title with the buyer's information, and then hand over or mail the title. If you live out of state and are coming yourself to pick up the vehicle, the local notary can provide a transit tag for an individual to drive back to another state safely, and you would have 60 days to register it in the state you resident. I believe the transit tag fee is $128 at the local notary. That fee would be the responsibility of the buyer. The buyer would also need a drivers license and insurance. The vehicle is safely in the Municipal/Police parking lot. There is not set time the vehicle needs to paid for and picked up by. As long as it is a reasonable time frame of a week or two. We will work the seller, as long as payment is done in a timely fashion. Our goal is to accept payment and properly transfer the title. Then, the responsibility is on the buyer to figure things out on plates or transits tags and taxes/fees.
