2002 GMC C8500 SERIES Dump Truck with a Caterpillar 3126 7.2 litter Turbo Diesel engine mated to an Allison 5 speed automatic transmission. Equipped with a Gledhill Ten foot snow plow with a rubber cutting edge also has the salt spreader controls and everything needed to hook up a tailgate spreader. And Pioneer automatic electric tarp cover. The truck was initially purchased for our Hirway department for plowing and salting the roads but was handed down to our water department when we purchased a new truck. plow was used up until last season but the spreader was taken off around ten years ago. The truck runs great I think this engine and transmission combo was the best combo the Borough ever owned. The right side fuel tank was blocked off a couple of years ago for a rust hole in the tank so we where just using it on the left tank, now that one is dripping fuel and do to the rust and fuel tank issues we decided it is time to get rid of it. The truck still runs and drives and only has 28763 miles on it but this is what happens in a town that is only 1.1 square miles.
