Philips MicroDose Mammography Air Cooled

Excellent detection efficiency at a very low dose. MicroDose Mammography is a full-field digital

mammography system for screening mammography. This system utilizes a direct-digital photon

counting detector allowing high dose efficiency that makes it possible to conduct exams with low

radiation dose -without compromising image quality. A scanning technique is employed to reduce

scattered radiation, thereby increasing the contrast in the images. An ergonomic design offers

speed and convenience that both patients and staff appreciate - users can perform as many as 15

four-image examinations per hour.

MicroDose Mammography uses standard protocols such as DICOM to facilitate integration in the

digital environment in hospitals and clinics.

MicroDose Mammography components:

• The mammography stand

• Direct-digital Photon counting detector

• X-ray tube and high-voltage generator

• Collimator system

• Curved patient support and three compression paddles: Standard, high edge and small size

• Electrical cabinet

• Acquisition workstation (AW)

• Lead glass X-Ray radiation shield

The mammography stand with scanning technique.

The mammography stand consists of a compact supporting column and gantry. The gantry

movements, adjustable from four (4) different positions are fully motorized. The open design of

the gantry allows for patients to be examined either standing or seated as needed.

The ergonomic design offers speed and convenience that both patients and staff appreciate -

users can perform as many as 15 four-image examinations per hour.

The Smart AEC functionality automatically adjusts the exposure parameters for the individual

breast. This provides high image quality with a minimal radiation dose. Thanks to the unique

scanning technique, scattered radiation is reduced thereby increasing the contrast in the images.

Direct-digital Photon counting detector

The Philips MicroDose Mammography detector is based on photon counting technology which literally

counts individual X-ray photons. This makes it possible to eliminate electronic noise, an important

factor for image quality, and reduce the radiation dose given to the patient.

Photon counting Detector key features

High dose absorption enabling reduced radiation dose to the patient

High detail resolution enables clear characterization of small structures such as microcalcifications

Collimator system

The collimator system is specially designed to reduce the scattered radiation and thereby increase

the contrast in the images. The scattered radiation is reduced by 97% without increasing the

radiation dose to the patient. Collimator 1 removes void photons, i.e. those that are not initially

directed towards the detector. Collimator 2 removes the scattered photons from the breast in the

remaining beam.

Patient support and compression paddles

The design of the patient support and the compression paddle is an excellent match between

comfort and size. The field of view of the patient support and the standard compression paddle is

24x 26 cm, which is large enough for the majority of all patients.

2 **NMDA003 mobile conversion kit 1

The specially designed mobile kit provides a proper and secure installation of MicroDose

Mammography on the mobile setting (e. g. in a trailer, a bus or a truck). Thanks to the mobile kit,

there is no need to strap down the unit or provide additional security during transport.

The Mobile Kit is composed of:

• Radiation shield mounting kit

• Main cabinet mounting kit

• Side cabinet mounting kit

• AW table mounting kit

• AW table conversion kit

3 **NMDA009 Standard Monitor (1MP) 1

19 " Colour LCD monitor flicker-free.

4 **NMDA012 Standard X-Ray radiati. shield 1

A lead glass shield placed in front of the acquisition workstation.

Measurements are 1850 mm x 600 mm, 6mm thick (73” x 24” x 0.24”)

5 **NMDA052 Two pedal footswitch 1

Standard footswitch with pedals for compression control (up and down movement) and the

compression done button (move the collimator to scan start position)

6 **NMDA040 Standard voltage transformer 1

On the Standard configuration, the L30 (MicroDose) or L50 (MicroDose SI) has a transformer

inside the cabinet that handles 50/60Hz, 190-480 VAC on the primary side

7 **NMDA037 Power stabilizer 1

There are 3 stabilisor options available – the stabilisor should be chosen according to the

requirements at the site.

• Power stabilizer 208 VAC. Power stabilizer 208 VAC three phase (190 to 240 VAC), 3 Wire,50/60Hz

An external power stabilizer stabilizes the input power supplied to the MicroDose. An

external power stabilizer is always to be installed together with a MicroDose with standard

voltage configuration or when there are any doubts about the power quality or any power

quality issues are found. A stable power distribution is essential for a high uptime of the

system. To ensure a good power quality is part of the customer’s obligation.

• Power stabilizer 400 VAC. Power stabilizer 400 VAC three phase (380-440 VAC) , 3 Wire,50/60Hz

• Power stabilizer 480 VAC. Power stabilizer 480 VAC Three Phase, 3 Wire, 50/60Hz

8 **NMDA005 C120 Dose Settings 1

With an average glandular dose of 0.76 mGy (+/- 0.05). this setting meets the acceptable image

quality limiting values of the European Guidelines. Thanks to the outstanding photon counting

technology, dose efficiency is improved and high quality images are achieved at very low radiation

doses.

11 **989001070021 Spot compression paddle 1

The spot compression paddle is used during clinical mammography when extra compression is

required to force aside other tissue and achieve a detailed image of a specific area of the breast.

This paddle is also used together with Philips Diagnostic Scan. (Sold separately)

The paddle is installed by simply inserting the handles into place on the MicroDose.

Once in place, the paddle is stable and won´t tilt. Detaching for changing or cleaning is equally

easy for smooth workflow.

Measurements without frame 285x270x73 (WxDxH)

12 **989001070111 Diagnostic Scan 1

Diagnostic Scan is a Philips-exclusive feature of MicroDose Mammography and helps discern fine

details in spot compression images. This is achieved by using higher dose on a spot compression

area (12 x 24 cm) and electronic magnification on the review workstation.

Note! Spot compression paddle is not included and should be ordered separately. Article number:
