1984 Elgin Pelican Street Sweeper

For bid is an Elgin Pelican Street Sweeper.  Our Borough bought this unit used in 2008 and therefore we do not know all of the details.  It is and Elgin P model sweeper with a curb broom on each side, dual drive, a John Deere 4 cyl diesel engine and it runs and sweeps.  The unit does have some issues.  The water tank is steel and it is rusty, the rustyness of the tank plugs up the spray nozzles.  This spring the unit had an issue with the brakes,  they and the brake lines need replaced.  The transmission has a pin that needs replaced.  The engine runs fine, and has been serviced just this spring.  The belt is worn but it does pick up and the front bin is fine and it will lift and dump. Air does not work.   It has been kept inside our garage since 2008.  Please email with any questions.  Being sold as is.
