This 40x80 "Tent" is currently used as a boathouse to store crew equipment. The City is undertaking a project at the site that will require it's removal. You can see by the photos that the structure is secured by connections to concrete blocks/footings in the ground. Removal will require someone with knowledge in removing this type of Tent. The Buyer is completely responsible for removal.
This is a substantial, well made Tent Dome in good shape as you can see from the pictures. There is NO RESERVE on this, but the buyer will need to be flexible on pickup date as we are working out arrangements on moving the current contents.
The Tent may be viewed at 356 Commercial Street, the Malden DPW site.
If you have questions, email rhogan@cityofmalden.
Q: Did you purchase the 34 ankers that don't come with the structure or were the poured in place?
A: Unsure as it was installed years ago. They could have been either based upon the size.
Q: do the 34 Piers come with the structure and if so are you removing them from the ground or will that be to the responsiblility of the buyer.
A: No, the sale is for the tent itself, the frame and skin, disassembled and removed by the buyer.
Q: Are there any holes in the fabric or any other structural issues? What are the door dimensions?
A: The doors are 10 feet wide by 11.5 tall. The fabric and structure appear in good shape, we do encourage you to take a look if you really want to inspect. This item is being sold with no reserve and as is.
Q: When was the structure erected? Do you know the engineered ratings for snow load and wind exposure? To date, has it held up to any significant snow and ice loads over Winter? Was it unheated over those winter seasons?
A: Unsure of install date, but fabric was replaced in 2005 and is still in good shape. Zero issues with snow load and ice loads as the dome shape helps shed. It was unheated. We don't have any engineered ratings. You are encouraged to come look in person.
Q: will it be disassembled
A: NO. The buyer is fully responsible for disassembly and removal.
Q: Do you having structural plans on hand used for your installation that can be shared for Mass. Building code?
A: I added the only document that we had from when it was installed likely not all you were looking for but uploaded the pdf anyway.
Q: Hi, Can you advise of the dimensions of doors.
A: I will take measurements today. 10 feet wide by 11.5 tall.
