Q: I looked at the Truck, whats not in the description is that there is a major upper end valvetrain noise after it warms up. Likely #7 or #8 valve noise. Can you confirm what I witnessed.
A: Stoneham Ford replaced #8 injector in January 2024 with a new fuel module and advised that the Town change the oil more frequently to see if noise improves. The Town hasn't changed the oil since then. Mechanics have indicated there is still a "knock".
Q: Anything sold in the state of Massachusetts falls under the Warranty of Serviceability clause. Meaning, a product must work as it should. With that said, does the vehicle have any mechanical defects? Thank You
A: The Town started the truck and drove it around the lot. The sander will be slide in this week to be ready for pickup. The Town does not have a Youtube so unable to upload the video. Bidders are able to schedule an in person inspection to satisfy any concerns they have.
Q: I completely agree as sold “AS IS” but If the Vehicle is NOT “driveable off lot” that is misleading bidders and should be relisted as me and other contenders are under the impression it’s ready to work with minimal additional investment. And The “AS IS” clause should only be valid if it’s driveable off lot and not barely chug onto a transport trailer.
A: The Town has no reason to believe it will not be drivable off the lot. Bidders are more than welcome to schedule a visit to see the vehicle in person to make their own decision.
Q: With me increasing my bid past $25,000 is there any type of assurance that if the motor or transmission needs replacement before the dump leaves your Town’s possession can I get a full refund via Municibid? Afterall the item listed says driveable off lot.
A: The Town of Tewksbury reserves the right to reject any or all bids and does not provide any guarantees and/or warranties relative to any item being sold. Each item is being sold "AS IS".
Q: Does this vehicle pass Mass Inspection? Would I be able to drive this vehicle home 200 miles?
A: This vehicle has passed inspection last year. The Town elected not to reinspect the vehicle in August 2024 as the plan was to sell it in October. It has not been started in a few months so it may need a jump.
