Q: I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES , LEFT COUPLE MESSAGES THEN WAS TOLD TO EMAIL QUESTIONS . SENT QUESTIONS WITH NO REPLY . I AM HI BIDDER AND JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT MY COSTS ON REMOVING THIS UNIT . THANK YOU
A: All questions should be public. The Town provided an opportunity for in person inspection; No request made. Staff was busy with winter weather and apologizes for the delay.
Q: IS THE UNIT OUT OF SERVICE ? IS THE POWER DISCONNECTED ? IS IT DIESEL POWERED ? IS FUEL SOURCE DISCONNECTED ? I HAVE RAMP TRUCK , IS THE DOOR WHERE IT IS LOCATED ABLE TO BE BACKED UP TO AND WINCH ONTO BED ?
A: As previously answered "The Town replaced this unit with a portable CAT generator years ago. It previously was used only for test runs and emergency power outages. Hours are low. Staff estimates 10 years since it was last run." Double door on the street side parking lot; unit can be pulled on rollers but not dragged on the floor. Town can disconnect any building connections before removal.
Q: How big is door unit must go out? How far from the Door is it? Would it be ok to slide unit out thru door?
A: Double Door out the front; generator width is roughly 36 inches. It could be rolled out but not dragged on the floor. Additional picture attached.
Q: Can you provide loading?
A: The ultimate responsibility would be on the buyer but the Town would consider helping to remove it from the building. Assumed flat bed hauling of generator.
Q: does this unit run and how well?
A: The Town replaced this unit with a portable CAT generator years ago. It previously was used only for test runs and emergency power outages. Hours are low. Staff estimates 10 years since it was last run.
