Our Fee's

With Municibid, pricing is clear, up-front and transparent. As in agreement with the state contract, Municibid will charge the following fees to the winning bidder. These fees will be charged to your credit card on file shortly following the ending of the auction.

  • If the winning bid is:

    $1 to $100,000

    7%

    Buyers Fee

    Applies to the amount between $1-$100,000
  • If the winning bid is:

    $100,000 - $500,000

    5%

    Buyers Fee

    Applies to the amount between $100,000-$500,000
  • If the winning bid is:

    $500,000 and above

    3%

    Buyers Fee

    Applies to the amount $500,000 and over

Example:

  • Winning bid: $50,000: = Buyers fee: $3,500 (7% of $50,000).
  • Winning bid: $150,000: = Buyers fee: $9,500 (7% of $100,000 = $7,000) + (5% of $50,000 = $2,500).
  • Winning bid: $550,000: = Buyers fee: $28,500 (7% of $100,000 = $7,000) + (5% of $400,000 = $20,000) + (3% of $50,000 = $1,500).

Paying for your won auctions

Municibid is handling the payments on behalf of the NJ selling agency (unless otherwise noted).You will receive a separate invoice and instructions for paying for the auctions you’ve won.

Types of payment:

  • Electronic check (ACH)
  • Certified check or money order by mail
  • Wire transfer
  • *Credit card
    • If paying by credit card a 3% convenience fee will be added.

*Note: Please make sure to check the payment details section on the item page to see if Municibid is handling the payment of the item for other sellers.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is bidding open to the public?

    Yep! Anyone can bid on auctions. If an auction has a restriction it will be clearly shown.

  • Do I need a credit card to bid?

    Yes. In order to place a bid you'll need to have a credit card on file. This card is used for the buyers fee only. You do not need a card to create an account.

  • How do I bid on an item?

    In order to place a bid, you must first register as a bidder. Bidding on Municibid is open to the public. Valid US or Canadian credit card is required to place bid. The credit card is for the buyers fee only.

  • Can I retract my bid?

    Bids can not be retracted once they are placed. Please make sure you understand all conditions, details, and terms of the auction items you are bidding on before you place your bid.
