We have sold numerous things on Municibid, from large equipment to very small equipment, to things we didn’t really think people would want to buy. Municibid was able to reach an audience that allowed us to sell every item. The best thing that happened to us this year was the introduction of the Municibid app. It allows us to go out in the field with a cell phone or iPad and create and post the listing from there.

  • Land area598.1 sq mi

Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region traces its roots to January 1961, when the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Planning Agency was first established to help member communities plan for the future together. In October 1992, the towns, cities, and boroughs of the region adopted ordinances organizing the current regional council of governments, known today as the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments. Norwich serves as the county seat, and the region includes municipalities such as Groton, New London, and Waterford, home to a combined population of 282,602 residents.

As a council of governments, the region coordinates work that crosses municipal lines, including a Regional Plan of Conservation and Development and ongoing transportation planning. This shared approach reflects six decades of neighboring communities working together on the practical business of planning for southeastern Connecticut's future.
