Jackie I would like to thank you and the Municibid family. You helped me every step of the way, answered any questions I had quickly and kindly, no matter how silly it was. It is truly a pleasure working with you. We posted 9 auctions and 8 sold and it was a great success in my opinion. It was a great experience for me and I can’t wait to post more items for the school district on Municibid. I will recommend Municibid to any municipality looking to auction items off quickly and easily. Thanks again for all your help and time.

We have sold numerous things on Municibid, from large equipment to very small equipment, to things we didn’t really think people would want to buy. Municibid was able to reach an audience that allowed us to sell every item. The best thing that happened to us this year was the introduction of the Municibid app. It allows us to go out in the field with a cell phone or iPad and create and post the listing from there.

About Village of Esperance Department of Public Works

Esperance at a glance
  • Population352
  • Founded1,818
  • GovernmentVillage mayor and trustees
  • Land area0.5 sq mi

Esperance sits along the Schoharie Creek in Schoharie County, New York, on a site first settled in the late 1700s. Incorporated in 1818, it holds the distinction of being the oldest incorporated village in the county. Its name comes from the French word for hope, a fitting choice for a community that has kept its small-town character for more than two centuries. Today, about 352 residents call the village home.

The Village of Esperance is governed by a mayor and board of trustees, with village hall located at 113 Church Street. Local history is preserved by the Esperance Historical Society, whose museum has occupied the former one-room schoolhouse since 1970.
