Bidding & proxy bids

Can I cancel/reduce my bid after I submit it?

Bids are binding. You can release a proxy maximum with Release my maximum, but your current bid stays.

Bids on Municibid are legally binding and cannot be cancelled once they are placed. Please do your full due diligence before submitting a bid, including confirming the item's location, condition, and pickup requirements.

If you placed a proxy bid (your maximum), you can release it from the listing page. Open the item, find the PROXY BID ACTIVE box, and click Release my maximum.

  • Releasing your maximum only stops Municibid from automatically bidding higher on your behalf.

  • It does not cancel your current bid. Whatever the current bid amount is when you release the maximum stays in place, and you remain the high bidder if you still hold that bid.

  • We cannot remove or reduce any bid below the current bid amount.

You can raise your maximum at any time without changing the current bid using RAISE YOUR MAXIMUM on the same listing page.
