This vehicle was purchased new and put into service in October of 2012 and used as patrol unit May of 2015. During its times as a patrol unit it accumulated 74580 miles. As a patrol unit it was assigned to two officers (not a motor pool unit). It was well maintained by the Borough's mechanics and garage kept. In May of 2015 it was converted to an undercover patrol unit and used sparingly by the detective, primarily to drive back and forth from home to work. It was placed out of service in December of 2022. The vehicle runs great, and everything works as it should. The tires are in good condition. There are no known mechanical issues. There are no dash lights on. AC blows ice cold. Comes with Weather Tech Floor liners. As mentioned above new Goodyear tires with only 4740 miles! This is a first-generation Police Interceptor using the Explorer, so it isn't equipped with a backup camera, or Bluetooth.
The vehicle is being sold with front and rear emergency lighting and siren, along with the control box. This will be left in the vehicle if it is purchased by a law enforcement agency with proof being provided by a letter on official department letterhead from the agency chief stating the vehicle will be used for law enforcement purposes only. Front and rear partitions (not installed) will also go with the vehicle if sold to a L.E. organization. If sold to non-law enforcement the lights, siren and control box will be removed. The center console will go with the vehicle.
While in-service the vehicle was extremely well maintained. Almost all service was done in-house by the Borough’s mechanics. Service records are included in the listing. The water pump was replaced in July 2020.The following items are the only known issues and are all cosmetic and common to used police vehicles. Driver's seat has wear marks, the driver's armrest on the door has a split. there are some mounting holes in locations of the interior where equipment had been installed and then removed. The grille has marks and small holes where emergency lights had been installed. There are minor scratches and scuffs but no major damage. Some minor rust in the right rear door bottom (see photos). Overall, this is a very nice SUV.
Vehicle is located at the Franklin Park Borough Police Department which is just north of Pittsburgh PA close to Interstate 79 and the PA Turnpike (76).
This vehicle is being sold in AS IS CONDITION.
This vehicle and a complete service history are available for inspection at the police station between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday by appointment.
The mileage listed may increase slightly as the vehicle is being driven on occasion.
“Why can’t the car be test driven” is a question we are always asked. Our response is that though this vehicle is drivable, we do not allow it DUE TO INSURANCE PURPOSES.

If the government agency rejects your bid (they reserve the right to do so) your buyer's fee will be returned, in full, to you within 5 days of notification to Municibid of the rejected bid by the governing body.
