Item Description
2015 Ford Explorer PIU 3.7L 90,300 miles. Vehicle was used as an Admin car by our Traffic Supervisor. Taken out of service in 2023 due to upgrading the fleet. Known issues needs a battery. Vehicle starts with a jump. Clear Title. Siren and blue lights have been removed. Inspections by appointment only, call Al 781-577-8182 or email aciccone@newtonma.gov. Vehicle must be picked up within 7 days close of auction. Payment made in full by money order or certified check, prior to the vehicle leaving. Certified check or money order made payable to City of Newton Police Dept.
City of Newton bid #24-78. Surplus vehicle sold to the highest bidder, sold "AS IS and "WHERE IS." The Massachusetts used car lemon law, M.G.L. c.90 70N1/4 does not apply to the sale of this vehicle. Item offered for sale as listed, without warranty, guarantee or liability of any kind on part of the City of Newton. All City of Newton employees must comply with the provisions of G.L. 268A when bidding surplus equipment. They also must file a disclosure with the city clerk's office.

Only issue I am aware of is that it needs a battery. It has sat since December, but yesterday I did jump start it and used it to run an errand for the fleet with no other issues. You're welcome to come inspect it for yourself.

Our Buyers Fees
With Municibid, pricing is clear, up-front and transparent. If buyers fee is 8% for bids up to $99,999.99, 5% for bids $100,000 - $499,999.99, and 4% for bids over $500,000.
- Winning bid: $50,000: = Buyers fee: $4,000 (8% of $50,000).
- Winning bid: $150,000: = Buyers fee: $10,500 (8% of $100,000 = $8,000) + (5% of $50,000 = $2,500).
- Winning bid: $550,000: = Buyers fee: $30,000 (8% of $100,000 = $8,000) + 5% of $400,000 = $20,000) + (4% of $50,000 = $2,000).
Where can I see what the buyers fee is?
The current buyers fee will always be shown on the page of the listing under the current price in both the bid area and auction details area. You will also see the buyers fee amount you will pay for your entered bid on the page where you confirm your bid.
What if the selling agency rejects my bid?
If the government agency rejects your bid (they reserve the right to do so) your buyer's fee will be returned, in full, to you within 5 days of notification to Municibid of the rejected bid by the governing body.
