"Can you tell me why this vehicle is not drivable" - Asked by #13260593 09/29/2025 10:37 PM |
A: |
It’s the Township’s best practice to advise buyers to tow their vehicles following an auction. We’ve had several instances where vehicles broke down shortly after being driven off the lot, and the Township was unfairly held responsible.
All vehicles are sold “as is, where is” — many have been sitting for long periods and may need a jump start or minor mechanical work before moving. Buyers come from all over, and conditions vary, so we strongly recommend towing to avoid any liability or safety issues.
As a standard step, I also send an email to the winning bidder including this disclaimer, especially if they intend to drive the vehicle off the lot.
