Item Description

SUN Area Technical Institute is offering an Accugrid Lightbox with Mayline Futurmatic Lift Table.

This lightbox and lift were removed from the Advertising Art and Design program in December 2025 due to no longer having the need for the machine within the curriculum needs, and the need for additional storage within the CTE program for materials and supplies. This item was originally acquired in the early 2000’s for the Drafting Program which was removed from SUN Tech many years ago. SUN Tech will gather as many parts for the machine as possible, however there is always the assumed risk of missing pieces. The lightbox was plugged in and tested (See image, with illumination). The lightbox does turn on and operate at time of removal.

Description:
Justification for the Items Use Together: The Accugrid lightbox and the Mayline Futurmatic are two separate pieces of equipment, but often compatible, pieces of equipment used in professional drafting. The Mayline Futurmatic is an electric-lift drafting table base, and the Accugrid is a brand of precision light box designed to be mounted onto such a table.

Mayline Futurmatic Lift Table: The Futurmatic is a heavy-duty drafting table base known for its electric (not typically hydraulic, but often referred to in a general sense as "power lift") height and tilt adjustment mechanisms. It uses a motor and gear drive system to provide a large range of vertical travel (e.g., 30" to 48") and angle adjustment, with a high lifting capacity.

Accugrid Lightbox: Accugrid (sometimes just referred to as "Accu Grid") manufactured light tables or light boxes which were drafting surfaces with integrated backlighting. These were commonly used for tasks requiring tracing, overlaying blueprints, or working with transparent materials.

Usage:

It was common practice for professionals to mount an Accugrid lightbox onto a durable, adjustable base like the Mayline Futurmatic. This created a versatile, professional-grade workstation that allowed the user to adjust both the illumination and the ergonomic position of their work.

These items are now often found in the used or vintage market as professional drafting has largely moved to computer-aided design (CAD) systems.

What if the selling agency rejects my bid?

If the government agency rejects your bid (they reserve the right to do so) your buyer's fee will be returned, in full, to you within 5 days of notification to Municibid of the rejected bid by the governing body.
