Right after the auction closes
1. You’ll get a winning bidder email from Municibid confirming you were the high bidder.
2. The buyer’s fee is charged to the credit card on your account when the auction closes. (You’ll see the amount on the listing and on the bid confirmation page before you bid.)
Please note: your winning bid may be subject to a vote for approval by the governing body. The seller reserves the right to reject any bid for any reason.
What do I need to do?
Get in touch with the seller
In most cases the seller will contact you shortly after the auction ends. Weekends and holidays can slow that down. If you haven’t heard back in a reasonable time, contact them through Municibid Messaging: go to My Municibid → Bidding → Won and click Contact for the item.
Pay for the item — check your invoice
How you pay depends on the listing:
If the invoice shows a Pay Now button: Municibid is collecting payment. Click Pay Now and choose a payment option (credit card, ACH, or wire). For wire, choose Wire Transfer, then click to request the wire information — the details appear on your screen (they are not emailed).
If the invoice says to pay the agency directly: Follow the Payment Details on the listing page (and any notes on the invoice). Municibid does not take or mark those payments paid — only the agency can.
You can also check Payment Details on the listing page or the invoice comments if you’re not sure which applies.
When a Municibid (Pay Now) payment clears, you’ll get a paid receipt by email. Keep that for pickup. If you don’t see it, check spam/junk — don’t pay a second time until you’ve confirmed the first payment.
Buyer’s fee
The buyer’s fee is separate from paying for the item. It’s charged to the card on file when the auction closes. More: If I win, what fees will I have to pay?.
