2003 Kovatch Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Apparatus

This 2002 Kovatch Mobile Equipment Airport Fire Apparatus was purchased new by Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA) for use at Harrisburg International Airport.

The vehicle is a 4X4 vehicle has independent suspension and is powered by a 500 HP Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine and a Twin-Disc automatic transmission MODEL: TD61-1179; S/N: 3AL219 . The drivetrain only has 3,140 engine hours and a total 8,550 miles on it. Being restricted to the airport our vehicles do not get a lot of mileage on them. The apparatus contains a 1500 gallon fiberglass water tank, a 300-gallon foam tank, and 450 lbs of Purple K dry powder (still on board). The tires are at 75% as are the brake pads. NOTE: the foam tank pipe thru water tank has a leak gradually mixing some foam into the water tank. The Rhino brand low angle turret and Hale fire pump (Model: RME-3) are fully functional. The vehicle includes a hydraulically drive electrical generator powering lighting and supply reel and outlets.

NOTE: Rear drive axle has a leaking pinion seal affecting the oil level in the differential housing. Driving off lot is not recommended.
