Buff & Buff Engineer Transit Model 1-C with Stand

Vintage Engineering Transit from the Buff and Buff Company, Jamaica Plain Station of Boston, Massachusetts.  The Buff company has a rich and celebrated reputation and histiory, and this is a classic precision piece that is still desired by surveying and construction engineering professionals today.  

Serial Number 31281, this number also appears on the leather strap of the dovetail construction storage box/case.  Strap is broken, case and transit show wear and patina common with instruments of this vintage.  We do not have a date stamp on any of the pieces so please don't ask. 

Also included is the matching and period-correct stand/egs for this instrument, as well as a plumb bob stored in the included carry case.
