Groen TDH-20 5 gal. Steam Kettle - Manual Tilt, 2/3 Jacket, Natural Gas wt - 215 lbs
With a self-contained steam source, the Groen TDH-20C steam-jacketed kettle does not need to be hooked up to a generator or boiler. Water enclosed in the hollow jacket is heated by the burners and turns into steam. The jacket surrounds the lower two-thirds of the kettle body, providing a more even heat than range-top cooking. Operators can cook as much as 20 quarts (5 gallons) of food at a time in this unit, optimal for batch cooking.
Because the steam kettle tilts with a manual hand lever that can be mounted on the right or left side, operators can smoothly empty contents underneath. The rim on the kettle has a reinforced design that prevents denting, and its welded-in pour lip directs product into pans as deep as 4 inches which fit below the tilted kettle.
Safety features in this Groen TDH-20C tabletop tilt kettle protect the operator and prevent damage to the internal components. The low-water cut-off feature shuts off the burner's gas supply if the water level in the jacket is too low. The kettle also has pressure safety functions, with a high-limit pressure switch—which shuts the burners off until pressure decreases if pressure is at 43 PSI—and a pressure relief valve, which lets steam out of the jacket if pressure hits 50 PSI. When the kettle body is tilted more than 12 degrees, the tilt cut-off shuts the heat off, and any time the unit is tilted, the gas supply is cut off.
