Lykens Borough Authority is posting their 1984 Mack/Pierce Tanker truck up for sale. This is a retired fire service unit that was purchased by Lykens to haul backwash water from our Water Treatment Plant down to our Wastewater Treatment plant. The tanker runs and drives fine but cannot be inspected due to a cracked from. The frame is able to be welded and then the truck can be inspected however it was decided that this truck does not fit our needs anymore and was decided to post for sale.
Q: Frame pictures please
A: Frame picture posted.
Q: Ever get pics of underneath?
A: Picture has been uploaded.
Q: Where on the frame is the crack located? Thanks
A: Frame crack is lateral on the frame rail between the passenger rear duals.
Q: Good morning I have a few questions. 1. who is the pump manufacturer and how many gallons per minute? 2.Is the pump operational? 3.was the tank and pump properly drained to prevent freezing ? 4. What material is the tank made of? Poly, steel, stainless steel? 5. Were you ever able to get any pictures of the cracked frame?
A: The pump is manufactured by Waterous and I believe it is a 1500 GPM pump. We tried to put the truck into pump gear the other day and I am not sure if the pump light is out or if the pump will not go into pump gear. We have never used the pump for what we were using the truck for. Always used a trash pump to fill the tank with backwash water. Steel tank on the truck. Pictures of the frame will be posted shortly.
Q: How many gallon?? Is there a pump on it?
A: 2500 Gallon tank with Pump
Q: Pictures of the cracked frame ,where is it on the truck, frame rotted?
A: I will grab pictures as soon as I dig the snow away from it. Underside of the truck looks in good shape considering.
Q: I’ve seen these before with a drop frame set up like a beverage truck to support the frame
Awaiting the seller's answer.
Q: 3oo mack engine? engine brake
A: The plate on the block shows E6-350 and yes it does have a Jake brake.
