Knob missing from front.
Q: Can the base be locked without the knob ?
A: The base will lock into the common angles (0,15, 22.5, 31.6 degrees, etc), but will not lock for individual degrees in between those angles without the knob.
Q: What is the purpose of the missing knob?
A: It is used to lock the base when doing an angled cut.
Q: are there any known issues? Works properly?
A: There is a knob missing from the front. I have added a closer picture of this area to the description.
