Q: Ok. What if they vote and the bid isn’t accepted? Will the check be returned ? Or is the 10% forfeited ? Time frame seems quite unreasonable. Giving a person 4-5 hrs to go to bank get certified check and get it mailed out so it arrives by 4 pm on Monday.
A: I contacted Municibid and had the end date shortened. The new End Date is June 8, 2026 @ 12:00 P.M. ET to allow a more reasonable time-frame in submitting the 10% down. If the council opts to reject the high bid, the check would not be forfeited, it would be returned or used towards the purchase price.
Q: Ok. But how is a person suppose to get a certified check for 10% down to the office at the same time the auction closes? Let alone within the 2 days after auction closes to meeting date on 15th.
A: While the end date is Friday June 12th @ 12:00 p.m., the 10% cashiers check or money order is due on Monday, June 15th @ 4:00 p.m. For those that hand delivery is not an option, possible options would be to forward the check via an overnight shipping service like FEDEX or UPS. If these are not viable options, please contact the municipality for consideration of an alternate electronic option.
Q: So dumb question here. How are you suppose to get a certified check to the office by 10 am on June 12 when the auction doesn’t end until noon on the 12? Am I missing something ?
