If you're facing issues with receiving auction-related emails and notifications on Municibid, this guide will help you identify the problem and take corrective action.

Overview of Notification and Email Functionality

Municibid sends various notifications and emails about auction activities, including ending bid activity updates. These emails are critical for staying updated on your active or monitored listings. However, receiving these communications depends on your account settings, your user role, and sometimes email client-specific configurations.

The Role of Main Account Holders vs. Team Members

  • Main Account Holders: The primary recipient of all automated emails, including bid activity notifications, is the main account holder or Team Admin. To receive these emails directly, your account must be updated to designate you as the primary contact or Team Admin.

  • Team Members: Standard team members may not automatically receive these system emails. However, when added as a team member on someone else’s account, admins can adjust your notification preferences to ensure you receive auction-related emails moving forward.

Steps to Troubleshoot Email and Notification Issues

Follow these steps to ensure you are not missing any important notifications:

  1. Verify Your Role: Check whether you are set as the main account holder or a team member. If you're not the main account holder but need specific emails, communicate with your Team Admin to adjust notification settings or have emails forwarded to you.

  2. Check Notification Preferences: Work with your admin to reset your notification preferences. This ensures relevant emails are configured to reach you.

  3. Inspect Spam or Junk Folders: Emails may sometimes be filtered into your spam or junk mail folder depending on your email client’s settings. Regularly check these folders to retrieve auction-related notifications.

  4. Update Account Settings: If you require direct receipt of system emails like ending bid notifications, request to be updated as the Main Contact or Team Admin in order to streamline communication.

Where the settings are

If you are the main account holder, click My Municibid, then Dashboard, then Notifications in the left menu. Make sure the “A bid has been placed” switch is On. A switch that is on means you receive that email.

Preventive Measures for Better Communication

  • Regularly confirm your email address is correct and up-to-date in your Municibid account.

  • Collaborate with your team admin to clarify roles and notification responsibilities.

  • Ensure that your email service recognizes Municibid emails as 'safe' to prevent them from being redirected to spam.

By following these steps, you can effectively resolve issues related to auction notifications and ensure uninterrupted communication about your auction activities.
